Captain Jarett Carlson
@jarettttWhy fish with Jarett?
Anyone and everyone is welcome aboard. I really enjoy connecting with people of different backgrounds, perspectives, and levels of fishing experience. I’ll meet you at your current skill level and adapt my approach to help you get the most out of your time on the water.
I have put in thousands of hours on the water. Over time I have built a deep understanding of fish movement and behavior. This has helped me identify important variables that impact fishing success and develop a strategy around what matters most.

Fish with Jarett, fish with light tackle. Expect a very hands on approach and to be actively engaged in casting, jigging, or bobber fishing a majority of the trip. For this reason trips are limited to 1-2 people. This allows for plenty of room while actively fishing and keeps things comfortable. I am also able to better assist with rigging, bait, and coaching techniques as needed. The customer experience would be negatively impacted if my attention had to be divided beyond 2 people.
Most trips will be out of a river boat equipped with an outboard jet for shallow water, anchor winch, trolling motor, and livescope live sonar. It is set up to complement the light tackle program very nicely and capable of navigating all types of water. The boat has been inspected by the Department of Natural Resources to ensure safety and seaworthiness.
(All gear, tackle, and bait is provided)
- Dress appropriately for the weather conditions. Ask the Captain if you are unsure. Suggestions can be provided based off the forecast.
- You will need a fishing license for the state your trip is in. Wisconsin and Indiana also require a Great Lakes trout/salmon stamp. If you are non-resident, Indiana has a 1 day license and Wisconsin has a 2 day license with these stamps included.
- Full day trips are typically 7 hours so be sure to bring any refreshments you may need.
Important: This is a drug free vessel. No exceptions. Alcohol consumption is not permitted due to charter insurance requirements.
